Sally Young
Centre Director

Sally has over thirty years experience as a manager in the early childhood sector, both in the UK and Australia. She leads a team of teachers and educators who strive to provide exceptional care and education for the children at DACCC, through collaborative partnerships with families.

Individualised Approach

We understand that children are individuals with unique interests and abilities.  The structure of our curriculum creates the opportunity for children to learn new skills and knowledge, and strikes a balance between child-initiated play and adult-supported experiences.

Natural World

We encourage children to learn the importance of caring for the natural environment by providing practical experiences to foster children's understanding of environmental sustainability.

Diversity and Inclusion

We embrace diversity, welcoming children from all family backgrounds, including LGBTIQA+, migrant and refugee, those with disabilities, and single-parent families. The recognition of the Wurundjeri people and their cultural significance on the land where our centre is located is a fundamental aspect of our philosophy.

Meals and Nutrition

DACCC offers fresh nutritious meals cooked daily including morning snack, lunch, and afternoon tea. At DACCC, we recognise the need to follow dietary guidelines this includes food intolerances, allergies, and anaphylaxis.

A well-balanced meal is a crucial component of promoting overall development for children. We incorporate herbs and vegetables from our own garden and use all vegetable peelings as garden compost.

DACCC acknowledges the Wurundjeri people as Traditional owners of the land our centre is located.
We pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
